Usage overview:

The new moto g4 plus is made of total plastic with textured back for better hold and grip. Unlike the previous moto phones this one is the 1st phone made by Moto under Lenovo and hence lacks the curves in the back. The side volume buttons are on right and the powerbutton, above the vol button, is a bit wobbly and has a texture to make it a bit easier to makeout
The phone runs on a stock android with some Moto customisations for user benefit like Chop-Chop to flash, double twist to camera etc.
The device has a single speaker which serves as a earpiece and a speaker both. The sound quality is loud ans good. No issues on sound quality.
The device has 3 mic support for better in call experience and video recording audio quality.
No gallery app is installed so using google photos is suggested.

In this 4 months i got 2 OTA updates from Moto which brought many fixes and also a wonderful nightmode on the camera side
Still the device is running August Security Patch which is a bit old and needs to be updated
The camera sensor is not scratch resistant so better use a rear case or flip cover to prevent scratches
The screen is corning gorilla glass 3 so u dont need to worry about scratches but use a tempered glass for better protection. But the fingerprint sensor is not scratchproof so a bit precaution is suggested
Display:
The device has 401ppi display panel some made by LG and some by BOE.
The devices with LG display has a good contrast and colors are accurate but it has some serious problems of screen burns or screen retention Read about screen burn-in here

The devices with Boe display has a bit warm screen which Moto used to replace the LG display and t doesnt have any burnin issues

Performance:
Having the snapdragon 617 chipset with big.LITTLE feature having 4cores clocked at 1.2GHz and the rest 4cores ar 1.5GHz and paired up with adreno 405 clocked at 550MHz the phone feels smooth on day to day usage and for a normal user its more than enough.
Playing games is also fine and no sutters are noticed. But playing heavy games like asphalt 8 on high settings on the device for a long time (about 20 mins) the device tends to heat up to abt 43-44C
I dont believe on benchmark scores so i wont post it here
Due to the 3GB ram the multitasking is just superb and it can easily load apps after a long time returning to the apps or switching between apps
The fingerprint sensor is accurate to its best and unlocks the phone instantly

Networking:
The device has dual sim support with 4G LTE with VOLTE support out of the box which means u can use JIO sims when u get the phone in your hand.
The in call experience is good and no issues on audio and voice quality

Battery:
The device packs in a 3000mAH battery. During my usage i got 4.5hrs of screen on time with heavy usage which is a bit less for me but good for many.
The good thing is that moto is giving 25W turbo charger with the device and so it can charge up very quickly. But the device tends to warm up when using the turbo charger and throttling also occurs.
Despite of the 3000mAH battery the device is light on hand.

Sensors:
The device consists of 19 sensors with stepcounter included in it
The phone also has Gyroscope sensor which makes the phone VR Ready
It has 3-axis accelerometer, game rotation sensor usong gyroscope and accelerometer for better gaming experience and battery saving and also a gravity sensor
But unfortunately moto didnt include the magnetometer sensor which is a huge setback for users who use mobile for navigation, digital compass and google maps.

Camera:
One of the biggest plus point of the device is its rear camera performance.
With encouraging photography results for a mid-range smartphone, the Motorola Moto G Plus boasts a very respectable DxOMark Mobile overall score of 84 points. Offering a 16Mp 1/2.4”-type sensor for high-quality images
This time motorola has totally revamped their camera app with many more visual improvements and shutter button and internal huge improvements
The sensore paired up with PDAF and laser autofocusing has made the focussing blazing fast
In the lastest update motorola has included the night mode in the camera app where the image is processed after clicked and the exposure and ISO is increased for better low light output.
The moon sign on the top left corner shows that niggt mode is on. But it is controlled automatically by the app and not by the user.
Motorola has included the professional mode in their camera app which lets u customise the ISO, exposure, shutterspeed and white balance

The video recording mode lacks a OIS stabilization but has a EIS stabilisation inbuilt
The palm shake picture shows whether its turned on or off and it can be controlled by the user.

Slow mo recording can be done by both front and back cameras but at 540p qHD at 120fps.
Some pics clicked by the rear cam:

A pic by the front camera

I can guarantee you that its the best camera performance you can get from a device in this range.

Problems with the camera comes up when u shoot video at 1080p for 7-8mins constantly. The device may touch 45°C but cools down within few mins.
But if you shoot at 720p the problem vanishes.

Should you buy it?
I will give a thumbs up to this device because of the camera, multitasking, turbo charger support and last but not the least stock android with updates till Android O.
But if you are a heavy gamer and buy device for gaming i will warn u that it warms up on prolonged gaming sessions. For normal day to day usage it is super smooth and easily you can buy it.

Feel free to comment below to remind me anything i have missed out and to know more things about the device.

Thanks for your patience....
Thanks to adakankar pashupathinath for giving some lowlight pics

  1. Its good but
    Some mistakes like
    It's 3GB of RAM not 3gb
    3gb would be just 375MB
    ,
    2nd g3 wasn't waterproof,its just water resistant
3rd device just has gyro, proximity, accelerometer and ambient light sensor
Rest is combination of these one's
Like "game rotation vector" is gyro + accelerometer
Orientation is gyro + compass , g4+ lacks compass.

    2. My English is basic. The fronts camera in Samsung Galaxy J7 or LG G4 have a function "Beautu", with levels 1 to 8... He work as photoshop. I want know if the Moto g4plus have anything similar?
